Senator Godswill Akpabio resigns as PDP minority leader

The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State Senator Godswill Akpabio has finally resigned his position as Senate Minority leader and has finalised his defection from People Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Senator Godswill Akpabio announced hie resignation in the letter he addressed to Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha dated August 4.

The Senator, however thanked the senate leadership and referred to the PDP as “our great party”, “for giving him the opportunity to lead the caucus for three years.”

He did not state the reasons of his resignation but it will not be unconnected to his plan of dumping the PDP.
